Junior Sous Chef (w/m/d)
Full-time | 40-47.5 hours/week

The Junior Sous Chef supports the Sous Chef and Head Chef in organizing, coordinating, and ensuring the quality of all kitchen operations. The goal is to guarantee smooth service, consistently high food quality, and compliance with hygiene and safety standards.

To strengthen our ambitious kitchen team at the LAGANA Restaurant at voco® Villach, we are looking for a dedicated personality with a passion for fine dining, precision, and team leadership. In this responsible position, you will play a key role in shaping the culinary identity of our hotel and actively contribute to the further development of our high-level gastronomic offering.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the planning and coordination of kitchen operations
  • Assisting with mise en place, production, and service
  • Ensuring compliance with recipes and quality standards
  • Guiding and supporting Commis Chefs, Demi Chefs, and kitchen assistants
  • Monitoring stock levels, storage, and product usage
  • Assisting with orders and inventory management
  • Implementing and supervising hygiene regulations (HACCP)
  • Representing the Sous Chef during absences
Professional Requirements & Personal Skills:
  • Completed training as a chef or comparable qualification
  • Initial professional experience in a similar position or as Chef de Partie
  • Good knowledge of modern cooking techniques and product knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of cost calculation and inventory management is an advantage
  • Confident handling of hygiene and safety regulations
  • Team spirit and leadership potential
  • Organizational talent and a structured way of working
  • Ability to work under pressure and flexibility, even in stressful situations
  • Strong quality awareness and attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and motivation for continuous development
