Sightseeing in Carinthia

Whether it's a gala dinner in an elegant atmosphere, jazz sounds in the brewhouse cellar, sunset cruising on a ship, alpine pasture experience or medieval castle flair - the Villach region offers something for every taste. Or enjoy the entire Alpe Adria region, because after only 15 km you are in Italy or Slovenia

Breakfast in Villach, lunch in Friuli and dinner in Slovenia - in between an attractive programme according to your wishes. Impossible you think, no not with us! Take advantage of the special geographical location of the Villach region in the border triangle where Austria, Italy and Slovenia meet and practically merge into one region. You can choose a culinary, cultural or sporting aspect for your 3-country tour - always a unique experience in the Alps-Adriatic region!

At Lake Faak you will find the organic citrus garden with over 280 lemon varieties from all over the world. On more than 5,000 m² you can discover the variety and even taste it during a guided tour. The citrus garden is open all year round. TIP - We recommend a guided tour with lemon pioneer Michael Ceron followed by a tasting. Free of charge with the Erlebnis CARD.

Landskron Castle has so much to offer and is always worth a trip. The old fortress is considered a landmark of the region.  A special highlight is the bird of prey show in the eagle arena. In a 45-minute show, you will experience flying birds of prey and a spectacular bird show.  The Affenberg (Monkey Mountain), which is located below Landskron Castle, is always worth a visit. It is Austria's largest monkey enclosure and is home to over 160 Japanese macaques.

Villach's local mountain is only 20 minutes away by car. The local recreation area has a lot to offer. You can reach it via the Villach Alpine Road, one of the most beautiful panoramic roads in Austria. There are several attractions along this road.  Visit the Alpine Garden, look down into the depths on the "Rote Wand" viewing platform or hike to the summit at 2167 metres above sea level. The Dobratsch Nature Park is always an experience in summer as well as in winter.
